Shannon is a PhD student in the Interdisciplinary Engineering program, designed to allow students to design a degree incorporating an engineering discipline with one or more other fields. Shannon will be using this newly developed program to build a degree combining A&M's Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering programs. She graduated in May of 2018 with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from A&M after spending more than 3 years in the Biomechanical Environments Lab. During that time, she assisted with several projects involving experimental investigation of tissue and joint biomechanics. She also helped to investigate the injuring mechanisms of blast induced traumatic brain injury using a compressed air driven shock tube.
